PhD Candidate
Logan joined the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at Georgetown as a PhD student in 2024 after a year of working as a research technician and lab manager at Georgetown University and college at James Madison University.
Logan received a B.S. in Biotechnology with a minor in Sociology from James Madison University in 2023. At JMU, he worked with Dr. Corey Cleland investigating the role of muscle synergies in the simplification of spinal movement planning and coordination. After graduating, Logan spent a year working at Georgetown in the Department of Neuroscience. He worked in the laboratories of Dr. Malkova and Dr. Forcelli, including contributions to projects involving the pharmacological modulation of brain structures in non-human primates as well as studying cellular senescence and senolytic interventions in a mouse model of temporal lobe epilepsy.
In 2024, Logan began as a PhD student in the Pharmacology and Physiology program with a strong interest in neurodegenerative disease and translational therapeutic interventions. He is currently doing his thesis research in Dr. Mark Burns' lab, where he is investigating the use of non-invasive brain stimulation techniques in rescuing cognitive deficits following traumatic brain injury.
